rich people.
Yesterday I went to watch a movie at this old movie theatre, which is only a dollar a movie. However, the reason for this is because there is a newer, better movie theatre that opened up, so this old one lowered their price to a dollar a movie and played old movies because they really could not compare if their ticket prices were still the same.
First of all, I’ve been at that movie theatre a million times and mai mom knows it. Except when I was talking to her on the car on the way to dinner that night, she was like “Oh… you shouldn’t go to that kind of place because it is so cheap… it must mean it has a bad environment.”
WTF IS THAT ABOUT??? There are virtually NO freeking poor, “ghetto” people in Dublin, and mai mom knows it! Suddenly she gets all psycho just because this place offers cheap movie tickets? What kinda shit is that? That pissed mee off so much… I hate when rich people think that they are better than other people. I never even knew mai mom was like that. I’m dissappointed.
And then mai brother… holy… he bugs mee even more! He’s one of those people that wants to be a millionaire, and that’s one of the MOST important things to him (probably second most important… seriously) and he wants to be rich so he can flaunt it. So he can bust out his billz and get a limo to drive him everywhere… to get nice clothes… he even likes pretending that he is rich now. Even if he doesn’t have all that much money, he likes to treat people out to dinner (for no reason), he likes to waste $$ on hella stupid shiet, he likes to dress in suits for NO REASON for godsakes!! That pisses mee off too!
Yes, money is important, but no way should it be the MOST important. As everyone knows, money doesn’t bring TRUE happiness, love, or friendship.
And I don’t like when people show off that they have money. So what? Yoo have money. That doesn’t mean yoo are BETTER than other people. Seriously, so what?? Yoo have a good business… maybe some homeless guy had a good business but things were f’d up beyond his control… say he had family members’ hospital bills to take care of or something. Does that make yoo a better person than him? Hell no! Just because yoo drive a Benz doesn’t mean yoo’re better than a person who drives a Civic! Maybe he or she doesn’t want one.
It’s hella stupid how people think that if yoo’re rich, yoo have to have nice EXPENSIVE cars, yoo have to have a nice EXPENSIVE house, yoo have to have nice EXPENSIVE clothes. Being rich is just a whole buncha crock… yoo have to pretend to be all distinguished and stuff or other people will look down on yoo.
Honestly, I don’t want to be rich (I don’t want to be poor either though ~ probably somewhere in the middle). Of course, buying whatever I wanted would be great… that’s a given. But no way is it something that I yearn for. To be rich yoo have to go to EXPENSIVE restaurants and mingle with other rich, “distinguished” people, all the while pretending to be something yur not. That just doesn’t work for mee.
I really believe in that term “keepin it real” as ghetto as it sounds. No reason to pretend to be something else to please SOMEONE else. I can add this to a whole lotta different scenarios - people who drink and smoke just because their friends do it, people who waste hella money on the latest fashions just because their friends do it, etc. etc.
Personally, I don’t give a damm what they think about how I look. I DO care about how I think I look maiself, and I DO care how other people rate mai personality. But as far as looks go… of yoo don’t like mai clothes or mai hair or hell… mai nail color, then screw yoo… I don’t give a damm. =)
