i am bored of this, so i’m leaving.

east coast vs. west coast. vs… TAIWAN??

Friday, November 3rd, 2000

See, isn’t it awesome that I can actually write about something weird like this and still brag that the reason I can is because I lived in all these places??? I kno, I’m a loser. Sue mee.

Anyways. On the east coast I was born in New York and lived in Jerz for like seven years or something? Maybe shorter. Taiwan for two years (but we go back every year now) and obviously I live on the west coast now… in Cali. I guess I’ll compare the places good stuff and bad stuff.

GOOD STUFF ABOUT…

THE EAST COAST: It’s pretty there! They actually have SEASONS. You can easily tell when it’s summer, spring, fall (it’s sooo pretty in the fall - even tho there are ten thousand bajillion leaves), and winter (oOo SNOW!). It’s really diverse… very liberal compared to other states, kinda like Cali. It’s interesting because yoo can drive like for a couple of hours and easily be in hella different states, since things are so close to each other.

THE WEST COAST: Again, it’s really diverse… more diverse than the east coast, actually. Also, very liberal since there are so many minorities (actually, minorities are the majority in Cali now hahahaha!) Pretty ugh… beaches. I don’t think they’re so great tho.

TAIWAN: It’s entertaining!! Maybe I’m jes sayin Taipei tho… since that’s the only place I’ve ever really been. Taiwan is very diverse too… they have Japanese, Korean, Hong Kong, American, Spanish, Filipino, blahblahblah stuff. Yoo name it, they got it. Also hella cheap stuff. And it’s lively… yoo can go out on the streets at two A.M. and there’d still be hella people out, and most places would still be open.

BAD STUFF ABOUT…

EAST COAST: In all honesty, I cannot think of anything.

WEST COAST: There’s no changes in seasons!! It’s either summer or spring. Some people like that, but I don’t.

TAIWAN: Can get waaaay too hot.
CONCLUSION…
Out of the east coast, west coast, and Taiwan, the east coast and Taiwan tie for places I’d want to live, and the west coast comes in last. I would say Taiwan would be first, if it weren’t for the hotass summertime weather. They don’t have a chance in seasons either, but Taiwan’s liveliness makes up for it. The east coast is just cool. I don’t know. The west coast is cool too, but I don’t like it as much. Maybe cuz the place where I live isn’t all that exciting. *shrug.

What do YOO think? =P

abortion.

Wednesday, November 1st, 2000

it took mee a long tym to decide whether or not i agree with the whole concept of abortion, but after a discussion in mai journalism class today, i’ve conluded that i think abortion should be allowed only in special scenarios, such as:

1) rape. after all, the girl had no choice. she should not have to be punished like that. people argue that it’d be unfair for the baby also, but at such an early stage, the baby isn’t even feeling anything. so what if it has the components to make a life? it doesn’t feel. also, the person who raped the girl must have had some problems mentally, so what if the kid took after his or her father? sometimes children resulting from rapes also hate themselves if they find out the truth about their birth… on the other hand, if the mother didn’t tell her child the truth and he or she found out, things would be complicated and the child would feel forever betrayed by his or her only parent around.

2) incest. obviously in this scenario, the baby will be rasied in a jacked-up family and will have mental or physical disabilities…

3) cases such as when the husband wants sex but is angry when the wife gets pregnant and does things such as beating her out of anger. sounds extreme, but it does happen. in this case, the woman is actually really feeling pain and really suffering, unlike the baby. people would argue that the woman should just leave, but raising a child in a father-less environment would be no good anyway.

however, i don’t believe that abortion should be allowed if it’s just some teenager going out and screwing around irresponsibly. i also don’t think that abortions should be allowed more than once…

i hate it when people are anal about abortion and think it should not be allowed in ANY circumstance. isn’t it better to not raise a child than raise him or her in a dysfunctional family anyway? also, people say that the children can always be put up for adoption, but if @ a young age a girl gets raped (and there is no such thing as abortion), the girl has NO CHOICE but to give up the baby which she will wonder about for the rest of her life. with abortion in that scenario, it will give the girl more choices. also, many people have given birth to babies whom were results of rape, and ended up HATING the child because the way the child was conceived was not something they liked. in those cases, the mother treats the baby badly out of hate anyway, so isn’t it better to not even let a child like that be born?

life is bad enough as it is. isn’t it worse for a youngster to be raised in a family with no love?
