people who watch the real world are not lame.

Thursday, September 28th, 2000

*SONG OF THE MOMENT * - “how deep is your love” bai jinusean. although not really bai jinusean. anyway.
* MOOD * - good. i need to do homework soon, though. yep.

i finally was able to upload stuff on http://vi.digitalrice.com - the new site will be up asap. well, technically not really NEW since it still looks exactly the same… but anyways.

today was a pretty cool day i guess. good weather. not too hot. it was sorta cold sometimes though, but cold weather is MUCH better than hot weather. the way i see it is that yoo can always wear more clothes when yoo’re cold but yoo can’t exactly strip when yoo’re hot… well, i mean yoo CAN but… that’s not too lovely.

oh yeah. thanks to mister liu for writing on mai board. yur funnie. =D

i was reading ann landers or dear abby or something. people are SO stupid. they get conned out of money and then complain about it and complain about the people conning them. it’s their own fault for mailing money to people that they don’t know… they shouldn’t complain about it and want people to feel sorry for them. dumbarses. =)

mai name is william wallace. that movie is cool. although i still am not sure which of two things they did at the very end of the movie… but hey, it’s okay, right? i don’t REALLY need to know.

talking about inner organs grosses mee out. that’s so scarie. just thinking about it makes mee feel uncomfortable. =\

some people think that the best movies are made out of real stories. think that’s tru? i wonder.

people were making funna mee (namely, mai brother and andy) for liking to watch “real world”. they said because i watched that, it was because i had no life and liked to watch it to live vicariously through the lives of people. that’s such bullcrap. people are interesting. it’s not living through their lives; people are just fun to watch. in the same way, if they believed that, they shouldn’t watch movies based on tru life stories or other similar things. it’s just ridiculous.

i’m pretty random.

yeaups.

dang… things are so expensive nowadays. if yoo want to go anywhere to do anything, it costs hella bank. mai frend bought pump it up. not quite ddr, but it’s free if i play it @ her house. i wanna go play. too bad she has homework. psh. what kinda person does HOMEWORK on a school day?!

japanese culture influenced by other cultures

Wednesday, September 27th, 2000

blah… yesterday I went to Japanese class and mai teacher handed out this thing… I’m just gonna type up part of it. Luckily I type fast.

*

“From the Asuka Period (A.D. 552-645) through the late Heian (end of the 12th century) period, the Chinese language completely penetrated the Japanese.

The same thing, I would suggest, is happening today with English. English is in the process of being completely absorbed, and its entire vocabulary is becoiming available for use in Japanese. Today, when new Japanese words are made up, they will come from English (or to a lesser extent, from some European language), no longer from Chinese [note… holy shit, this guy is supposed to be so dayam good @ English but his grammar is horrible!! I even added some commas in there].

It is hard to imagine modern Japan without Eglish. Right now, I am sitting at my desuku (desk), or teburu (table) with the rampu (lamp) on, holding my kompyuta (computer), taipingu (typing), making notes with a boru-pen (ball pen). I sip some kohi (coffee) from a gurasu (glass). When I need a break, I move to the sofua (sofa), lean against the kusshon (cushion) and read the nyusu (news) about the latest sekuhara (sexual harassment) incident. Then I turn to the puroguramu (program) on the kararterebi (color television) and watch a homudorama (home drama).

Just as Japanese used to create new words out of Chinese freely, so now it is beginning to create a homemade English [again, bad grammar!!]. Normally, foreign words (including Chinese) are formed into verbs by adding ’suru’ (to do), into adjectives by adding ‘na’ and into adverbs by adding ‘ni’ [uh, bullshit dumbass… where is there a suru or na or ni in Chinese???].

The process of English-absorption going on in Japan today is awesomely inventive.”

*

It’s not awesomely inventive! Inventing is to create something brand new… this is more like tweaking. But anyways.

It bothers mee that Japanese has soooo many freeking English-ized words. It’s really ridiculous. I know Chinese has some, and Korean has some, but the extent that Japanese has been changed is really quite ridiculous… it bothers mee almost as much as Asian people raised in Asian families who can’t speak… their respective ‘native’ languages.

I’m sure most people would agree that it is a little too many words that Japanese has changed around to make more Americanized.

Oh yeah. Didju know if yur an alien to the United States and yoo don’t carry your green card with yoo EVERYWHERE YOO GO, if yoo get caught, yoo can be deported? Some psycho shit eh?

Well personally if I were an alien I’d rather be deported to Taiwan man… =)

mean people in my journalism class.

* SONG OF THE MOMENT * - track 9 on wang leehom’s fourth album… ^_^ i don’t know the title off the top of mai head. man, chinese alternative music is the BEST. although it doesn’t dominate, it definitely is the best alternative i’ve ever heard. perhaps it is because i’m not exposed to enough alternative in the united states (wellz… the kind i AM exposed to is all from the radio and they all sound the same!!!!!! seriously… all the guys have the same voices… that or they have really horrible voices…)
* MOOD * - good i guess!

* TODAY * - there’s this girl that is soooo rude! this was actually a while ago, but anyways. we were driving home and it was mee, mai brother, this girl, and this other guy. and believe it or not, the girl, who is younger than mee, took the front seat and didn’t even ask if i wanted to sit there??? and it was mai BROTHER driving, not her brother. hella rude… hella rude!!!

dude, so many people have no respect for adults. there’s this one girl in mai journalism class who threw the shoe of the boi i talk about in the next paragraph onto this ledge so that he couldn’t get it… and when the teacher went to talk to her about what she did, she’s like “no! it’s all HIS fault… i didn’t do anything… i just threw his shoe on the ledge… don’t even lecture mee…” DON’T EVEN LECTURE MEE? i dun like that girl… she’s a bitch man. but anyways… wassup with the don’t even lecture mee… she should have known what she did was wrong. stupid.

people are hecka mean these daze. actually, people are always mean. there’s this one freshman in mai journalism class, and he’s like totally a.d.d. (attention deficit disorder) boi… he can’t sit still for like two seconds… he talks constantly… yoo know. but what pisses mee off is that all these people say how immature he is when they make fun of him all the tym. even when he’s not doing anything, they feel the NEED to make fun of him!!! telling him to go away… telling him he is annoying? those people hella piss mee off. they make everyone think they are so mature but in fact they aren’t mature @ all. and what pisses mee off even more is that one of the girls is a hella good christian, but yet she always talks shit about him… it’s like dayam… what kind of christian are yoo? oh wait! all christians are like that.

dood, the number one thing that pisses mee off is people. they’re so… annoying.

in other news… mai computer is being whack lately. it takes hours to do anything, and downloads at 5 kb a second!! HELLA SLO!! piss mee off.

whatever though. i guess.

i wish i were better @ chinese. =T i have to hurry up and finish mai homework now so i can watch mai soap operas @ 9:00! i’m really proud of maiself actually… there’s this cantonese soap opera at 9:00 and i can’t understand much cantonese, but combining what i can understand and what i can read, i can actually understand what’s going on that show. very very cool. =) there’s another one @ 10:00 that is based off of a novel… it has richie jen in it. dood, richie jen should NOT be famous. he’s so gOofy!!!! and anyways, he’s seriously the worst chinese singer EVER. compared to richie jen, aaron kwok and wallace chung are singing pros.

school.

* SONG OF THE MOMENT * - yo! bai shinhwa… i just yesterday started listening to their 2nd album regularly again… it is soooo good… yo! is the most awesome song ever =P actually, it IS… but for some reason it’s not one of mai faves. but it is very cool.
* MOOD * - i’m kinda not content…

man, i forgot what i was gonna say.

anyways, i just got home from SCHOOL. and it’s 7:30 pm! guess what i was doing?? laying out a page for journalism >.< sucks. but it is cool because i have the one page of the newspaper that doesn’t have any columns to follow… everyone else has to make their stories a certain pattern but mai page is just like a big fat spreadsheet and i can do whatever i WANT! muahahahahahah! uhm… yeah.

i forget what i was gonna say… blah… >_< anyhOoz… imma go. this is boring. =P

am i cynical?

Friday, September 22nd, 2000

* SONG OF THE MOMENT * - “bimen (secret)” bai nic tse… it’s from the chinese movie guo wak jai. i’m so pathetic… i’ve never seen ANY of those movies and they’re so famous -_- i saw like half of one… but all i remember from it is “cha siu bao” -_-
* MOOD * - angsty. actually, i don’t know what that really means, but it sounds like something that would fit mai mood right now.

man… i just typed the longest freeking entry i’ve ever typed just ranting and ranting about like everything in the world… but then i dropped mai phone on the computer and it froze. i’m so sad =(

but anyway. do yoo think i am cynical? people say i am. do yoo know what cynical means? here’s the definition:
1) scornful of the motives, virtue, or integrity of others: a cynical distrust of friendly strangers; a cynical view of the average voter’s intelligence.
2) expressing or exhibiting scorn and bitter mockery: cynical laughter.
3) given to sneering at rectitude and the conduct of life by moral principles; disbelieving in the reality of any human purposes which are not suggested or directed by self-interest or self-indulgence; as, a cynical man who scoffs at pretensions of integrity; characterized by such opinions; as, cynical views of human nature.

i think i am kinda cynical. that is no good.

but anyways. guess what i get to do on oktober 18th, 2000? i get to go to uc berkeley for this controversial school issue rally… ^^ pretty koo. i love berkeley. it is so awesome.

mee and sherry are discussing the bible. interesting. =)

guess what i’m doing again today? d.d.r.! kinda odd… i’ve gone three daze in a row… being that i play so much, i should really be a damm pro. whatever though. imma go buy it when i go to taiwan in december. i’m waiting for claire to come over right now with fontaine because we’re supposed to go to camelot and go to d.d.r. together… they better come soon because mai mom is coming home soon… and i parked mai car in the garage very sideways because i thought i’d leave bai the tym she got home… but probably not… no room for the lex… -_-

i dun like our lex. it’s a ls400. i want a gs400. or an sc300 / sc400. not an ls400. they’re ugly. mai dad gets an is500 in europe to drive around, because that is his company car. nice, eh? i want an mr2.

mai mom might go to china soon for a business trip, and i’ll get the house all to maiself. but they don’t want to leave mee @ home because they dun trust mee (even though i dun do anything)… yet they trust mai brother although he had a fat party when they weren’t home. hella gay. -_-

oh wellz… i’ll go talk to sherry about our shit now. this is half as long as the other one was before mai mofo computer froze… haha. okay… well…

the u.s. always gets stuff last.

Wednesday, September 20th, 2000

This is bugging mee because I just read in Newsweek about these bracelets that Georgio Armani (sp?) and other famous people are selling (probably for hecka money) which are just rubberbands with words printed on them… if they make a lotta money, that’ll make mee mad, because these kinda bracelets were popular in Asia loooong before it got popular here… or even HEARD of here… and of course, whoever thought of it in Asia didn’t get any recognition! Same with the capris, sideways backpacks, short dresses with fat boots, and I’ve even see a couple of girls wear short skirts over long flares… total Asian style… -_-

But it’s not just fashion that the United States get last… it’s the same with technology! All the cool cell phones and TV’s and stuff come out last in the United States, yet the general attitude of people in the U.S. is that they are so superior to everyone else… that just ticks mee off! If most Americans didn’t think that the U.S. was so much better than any other country, this wouldn’t be such a big deal (it’d just be annoying)… but since most of us DO, it is more than annoying >.<

music and lyposuction (interesting combo?)

Monday, September 18th, 2000

* SONG OF THE MOMENT * - techno!! i want techno (like… not cheesy techno!)!! i also want japanese music!! so… japanese techno!!! -_- and rock!! but i don’t like japanese rock!! so chinese rock!! cept i already listened to all mai chinese rock today! and pretty much all mai techno! dammit… oh well tym for chinese techno i guess… wallace O.o ~ *
* MOOD * - hehe… i don’t even know! yoo tell mee!

i’m in the weirdest music mood i’ve ever been in today… i like rock and techno but they’re not at all mai favorite (hip hop and r&b are mai faves) but today i can’t stand listening to any hip hop and r&b! the only stuff i can stand are ballads, techno songs, and rock songs O_o very odd. it’s koolio though… i like rock songs because i can listen to them whenever and they always seem to suit mai mood… they’re not happy jappy (which i don’t like) so… yeah… they’re koo… ^_^

another observation i made today… the only kind of music i can fall asleep to is trance. interesting, isn’t it? the first tym i fell asleep to it i thought it was really weird that i would fall asleep to THAT kind of music, but i seem to have done it a COUPLE of tymz…

so… here’s mai question of the day… do i look like i wear a sign that says “bring all your problems to mee” or something?? why is it that everyone in the world complains to mee? o.O okay… most of the tym i don’t mind… because the people complaining to mee are mai frendz. i’ll listen to them if mai frendz… besides, they probably don’t complain about things 24-7, and to tell yoo the truth, if they are mai good frend and they complain nonstop, i learn to deal with it. BUT… as for people who i’m not even really frendz with… dammit! quit telling mee all your problems! i don’t really know what yoo should do, so don’t make mee give yoo mai opinion! most of the tym they don’t listen to mee ANYWAYS! -_-

does anyone know how many people get plastic surgery and like… stuff like lyposuction a year? i’m curious to know. i would never pay money for that shit… so fake! -_-; but maybe i’m just saying that because i don’t think i’m hideous or extremely overweight??

being mainstream.

Sunday, September 17th, 2000

Claire was complaining about how Claire’s (the store) sells Morning Glory stuff now and how suddenly all these people who didn’t like this stuff loves this stuff. She thought it was really annoying…

I agree. I totally agree. Why is it that people are so boring that they cannot bust out things that they like in fear that other people may think it what they’re wearing or whatever is odd? I have a pair of leather pants and a pair of shiny like plasticy pants (like the kinds singers wear) which I got before everyone else I think…

But a lotta people thought I was weird for wearing leather pants… and now some of those people want to get leather pants?? Just because it is suddenly the trend? What the f, yoo know? Of course I didn’t start the trend or anything but it wasn’t mainstream here when I started wearing them… now a lot of people have them -_-

Same thing for like music and movies… people who didn’t like Coco Lee and Utada Hikaru or whatever suddenly like them because they are sooooo freeking famous… it’s really ridiculous.

I don’t understand it either. Personally I enjoy not fitting in with people and wearing clothes that are different, listening to music that is different, etc. etc. It keeps things interesting and not bland. I mean, everywhere I walk around in school I see all the guys wearing Abercrombie and Fitch clothes and all the girls wearing capris and hoochie clothes… it’s like… goddamm, do yoo HAVE to blend in with everyone?? Whatever though =)

Thas why I think Berkeley is hella kOo. Everyone is unique there… a lot of people think Berkeley is weird because of that but I think it is really interesting!!

guys! and america

Saturday, September 16th, 2000

I HATE guys who feel sorry for themselves.

It is bad enough when girls do it.

But for guys… it is just something that drives mee insane!! When guys make comments to make yoo feel sorry for them… ick. That is SO unattractive. Half the time I bet they don’t believe what they’re saying anyways.

Nothing to say… just wanted to say that. I hate when guys feel sorry for themselves. Maybe it’s not their fault or whatever, but… it’s annoying. Maybe I’m just being stuck-up? I don’t know. But I do think it is sexy when a guy doesn’t complain a lot And when a guy has a nice voice. And when he is really independent. And… yeah. A lot more.

Sexy is an ugly word though. The word sexy is not the least bit ’sexy’ @ all.

Anyways. How come America is the only retarded country that doesn’t use the metric system? Totally unrelated but I just don’t get it. Why do Americans in general think America is so great?? What makes them that great? Sure they are rich and whatever but that doesn’t mean that they’re better than everyone else… GRRRR!!!

clinton and janet reno.

Thursday, September 14th, 2000

This isn’t exactly a rant (for once)… it is more like a praise.

I like Clinton.

Damm guy… he would have a good reputation… no, a GREAT reputation if it weren’t for that stupid Monica Lewinsky thing.

Kind of. If people thought he was as “sexy” as Kennedy was, then I guess it would be different.

Anyways, Clinton is a damm good President. He makes good decisions and has a good way of thinking (minus the Monica Lewinsky thing). Anyways, he’s MUCH better than Janet Reno… that lady has the oddest points of views…

Why I like Clinton:
1) He helped our economy get better… it’s better now than it has been in a long tym. I don’t really CARE about the economy being good maiself, since I don’t really care much about this country, but it is a good thing either way.
2) I like how he took care of the Elian thing. People were saying that Elian should’ve been granted U.S. citizenship, and I agree with Clinton that just because he is a kid doesn’t mean he should automatically get citizenship… stupid protestors. Stupid Elian’s relatives in the United States. Stupid Janet Reno.
3) Now that the WenHo Lee thing is over, Clinton and Janet Reno have both expressed their opinions about it… (here is the article: http://my.aol.com/news/story.tmpl?table=n&cat=0180&id=0009140132421901) Janet Reno isn’t even willing to give WenHo an apology. I guess it was partly his fault also, but she’s a biotch man… not the kind of person I’d want to meet. Whatever. But I like Clinton because he feels embarrassed by this whole thing and has enough sense to feel it necessary to apologize to the guy. Stupid Janet Reno.

I like Clinton. Damm guy… he shouldn’t have messed with Monica Lewinsky. She isn’t even pretty!! If he HADN’T messed with her, then we wouldn’t have these dumbasses running for Presidency next term. Gore… he’s boring. BORING. What was up with that kiss he gave his wife anyways? But I guess that is none of mai business. Bush… only one word to describe him: dumbass. I should run for President.

Didju know there IS a lady running for President? I was shocked when I heard that but mai twin Allen-san says there is a lady running for President EVERY year, cept no one ever hears about it… O.o
