old people.

Monday, July 31st, 2000

Old people… there’s nothing wrong with being old, and I have nothing against most old people, but what pisses mee off are those old people who think everything wrong in the world is because of “teenagers” and “kids” nowadaze.

HELLO? THE WORLD WAS F’D UP WHEN YOO WERE TEENAGERS TOO! Yoo guys came up with the drugs! Yoo guys started toooooo many wars! And what… we get blamed for the consequences of these things. It’s hella STUPID. The world was evil, is evil, and always will be evil. Just because there happens to be more murders, there also have been better weapons, people have been in closer contact, and there have been more people within a small area. Just because there are people dying from sexually transmitted diseases now and teenagers get pregnant doesn’t mean they didn’t back then. It was the “old people” who started the trend anyway. They have NO RIGHT to bitch out youngsters for ruining this “perfect world” which is f’d up to begin with.

asians dating asians and whitewashed asians

Friday, July 28th, 2000

I realize a lot of Asians have problems with non-Asians dating Asians, or Asian-washed non-Asians. *Don’t yoo LOVE how confusing that sounds?!*

First… the relationships. While I don’t really want to date or marry anyone who isn’t Chinese, if it happens, hey, what am I gonna do about it? Even if he is white or whatever… if he turns out being the man of mai dreams, then why not *though with mai interests, if the man of mai dreams were white, he’d be very interested in asian culture anyways*? Anyways. Some of the people who are against Asian and non-Asian relationships have logical reasons… different cultures just are hard to mesh… blahblahblah. But a lot of those who are against it DON’T have logical reasons… they say that it’s just disgusting? How is it disgusting? Besides, they’ll have kyoot kids. Haha. But anyways, they think Asian and Asian is okay… but only pure Asian and pure Asians… yet Filipinos and Chinese are okay? Gee, I dunno, but Filipinos ARE part Hispanic. Even if they have their own “ethnicity” now, it doesn’t mean they still aren’t part Hispanic. Anyways… thas mai little schpeil on Asian and non-Asian relationships… I don’t think there is anything wrong with them.

Now onto Asian-washed non-Asians. Personally, I think that Asian-washed non-Asians are AWESOME! ^_^ I happen to have met at least three Asian-washed white people, and two Asian-washed black people ^_^ I think it is really interesting! Besides, I don’t think there is anything WRONG with them liking Asian stuff… after all, most black people and white people aren’t really in touch with their “culture”, and it’s not their fault that maybe they prefer an Asian crowd for friends. Anyways, that’s about all.

napster.

Thursday, July 27th, 2000

Ehhh… most people shold know that the court ruling for Napster is that it’s going to be shut down midnight of tomorrow…

That just pisses mee off -_- Technically, if they REALLY went bai copyright rules, Napster should NOT be shut down. After all, all the people download this stuff for PERSONAL use… not commercial use. It pisses mee off that the government always makes exceptions to their rules.

Besides, if Napster were to get in trouble, shouldn’t the makers of MP3 players get in trouble too? It’s hella stupid. It’s not like MP3’s won’t be passed around the internet anyways. Plus, CD companies rip people off so much already… the standard price is $17.99 for a regular CD. Goshdarn, it’s two pieces of plastic and three page paper booklet! I’m SURE it doesn’t cost that much.

Oh well. Hehe… I dun really mind all that much though, since I don’t really use Napster anyways, but the main thing is I hate how American government policies are so flexible. -_-

98 dollar pair of pants.

*SONG OF THE MOMENT* ~ h.o.t.’s “operation takeover”. this song is just awesome sounding… and there’s enough blend of morbidness and happiness that yoo would wanna listen to it no matter what mood yur in.
*CURRENT MOOD* ~ uneasy.

well… today i got a present from the big boss lady in china *she came back to the unitd states for a week and a half*. first of all, i’ve never even REALLY talked to her before! but still today she bought mee this shirt from bebe (thirty-two bucks) and a pair of pants (ninety-eight bucks!!) ninety-eight bucks!!!!!! thas more $$ than i’ve spent on clothes in a loooooong tym.

anyway… i dun like people buying mee stuff. especially when i’m undeserving of it *like now*. i mean… if it’s mai birthday, fine. if it’s christmas, fine. but if it is just for no reason, i feel BAD. oh well. what can yoo do about it though? can’t exactly tell the adults yoo dun want their stuff.

i’m tired. i need to go home and burn some cds. ^_^ ahhh… so much to do, so little tym *and so little motivation…*

i guess i’ll be going now. baibai.

youngass singers (we’re talking tweens).

Wednesday, July 26th, 2000

Okie I just came back from SM Town (http://www.smtown.com) because people were talking about their nu singer, Boa. She’s thirteen. She can dance, she can sing, and it’s obvious that she’s hella talented at a young age. BUT… is it really good to have singers that young?

Well first of all, this is all mai opinion… I have NO evidence to back this up, because I don’t know any of these young singers personally. These are 100% assumptions… however, they make perfect sense.

Recently there have been a whole lotta 13-14 year olds becoming singers, and the whole thing just irks me. I mean, they’re thirteen!!! When I was thirteen *which was in 8th grade*, I had a totally different state of mind than I do now. For crying out loud, they’re probably not even in high school!! And besides… think about it… if yoo were the youngest singer out of a million other singers, yoo’d feel extremely talented, and thus get a fatty ego… am I right? Isn’t that bad? Just because the record label couldn’t wait a couple more years? I guess they COULD be a brat at the age of seventeen also, but those four years make quite the difference in maturity. Also, seeing a seventeen year-old singer isn’t as shocking as seeing a thirteen year-old one, so no one would make as big of a deal out of it.

If yoo guys have no idea what I’m talking about and cannot think of any singers that are thirteen or fourteen, here are a couple:
1) Mandy Moore
2) Sammi (the little black boi who sounds like a girl… he sings the “I Like” song ^_^)
3) Boa
4) Two members from the Taiwanese group… I think iss called Kiss?
5) RyangHa and RyangHan *or whatever the heck their names are… I know that’s not right =P*

Anyways, I’m sure there’s a whole bunch more, but I can’t think of it right now =P

Oh, but I’d like to say… it’s different with child movie stars because: 1) Most of them suck anyway and don’t get more parts in other movies, and 2) The movies CAN’T wait a couple more years unless they wanna make an adult dress up like a kid… O_o

pointless, random ass questions.

*SONG OF THE MOMENT* - “Change” bai ShinHwa. This song’s lyrics are awesome… for some strange reason O_o

Well anyways, an inquiring mind would like to ask:

1) How come all Korean girls want to be Korean singers? O_o

2) Why does anybody WANT to grow up? I was quite content being a kid, thank yoo very much… I actually don’t think I ever WANTED to grow up. Psh. Jobs… responsibilities… psh.

3) How come all the cartoons on TV now *for kids* suck? I remember we used to have the bombass cartoons… Voltron, Transformers, Gem, He-Man, Ninja Turtles, GI-Joe, X-Men… ^_^ Woo… speaking of X-Men, I can’t believe the first X-Men movie didn’t have Gambit! Man, he’s mai favorite. He BETTER be in the nex one or I’ll have to… I dunno… bust some caps =P

4) Are all Chinese *perhaps all Asian? not sure* nerdy or something? Mee and mai frendz were talking and we all admitted we liked doing those workbooks for fun when we were little O_o AND - I don’t know if this is tru anymore - mai mom said that Taiwan got rid of all their arcades because kids were skipping school to go to arcades. HAHA!

5) Why can people sue for stupidass shit?

6) What makes shit a bad word anyways? Shouldn’t “dung” or “poo” be bad words also then?

7) How are Vietnamese people “gooks”? I thought gooks only referred to Kimchis?

8) How do Kimchi people eat so much kimchi? Haha… I’m juss playin with this one… but I can’t stand that stuff.

9) How can one deny that Kimchi boi groups are JUST LIKE the Backstreet Boiz and N’Sync and 98 Degrees? They are EXACTLY like those “boy bands”, cept they’re hotter. =P And SOME have more talent. Ehh… actually only ShinHwa ^^;

10) How come Asian people are so perverted? Iss evident in Japanese anime and everywhere yoo walk down the street in Taiwan and Hong Kong there’s stands with “adult” magazines! And they’re in every bookstore too ~ right next to kiddie magazines! But I guess ALL people are that perverted…? Yeuk.

11) How do people NOT think “playin” on someone is wrong?! Grrrrr… *I’m not speaking from personal experience or something… it’s just that someone DIDN’T think it was wrong and bothered mee greatly…

12) How can ABA’s (American-Born Asians) make funna FOBs *in a serious, unjoking way*? They can kick your ass in a harder language! Plus they can do the English too… -_-

13) How come European people are the only ones that can’t eat spicy stuff *I mean European anywhere in the world… those with European descent*? I mean… Hispanics can… Asians can… but yoo rarely see a spicy dish made bai… white people *how else do I say it?!*. In fact, I don’t know of one. If yoo do, enlighten mee!!

14) How can anyone LIKE being human? Being human sucks… we’re over-emotional and weak. Sucks.

15) How do people put on makeup while driving? And I also once saw a guy reading a book while driving?! Hellloooooo psycho… would yoo like to kill someone today?! Yoo don’t need to look that good or be that educated in that short span of tym. Psycho asses.

16) Why is it just because I type “yoo” instead of “you” I’m being GHETTO? Thas not GHETTO… some fOo made up the way things are spelled ANYWAYS… why can’t I make up mai version? Yoo don’t have to always follow everyone else… -_- *although a lotta people are using “yOo” and “mee” now… oh well* I mean iss the same as in Chinese… after all, thas probably how simplified Chinese originated…?

17) How is Shin HyeSung’s voice sooooo sheckshi?? If yoo have a voice like him… drop mee a line… *wink wink* I’m not even kidding. =D

Wellz… enough ranting for today. Tomorrow: Random THOUGHTS… not questions =) I’m running out of shit to rant about, okay?

Dayam, I’ve been swearing a lot lately.

-_-

vivian’s bored-at-work show.

Tuesday, July 25th, 2000

alright, i gotta find SOME WAY to entertain maiself @ work, right? so this is mai nu attempt… a journal AND thoughts?! hopefully it will work although typing one whole journal will only probably take about 10 minutes out of mai day -_- the curse of fast typing.

anyways. i want to complain about work so badly, but i won’t, since i always end up making someone bitter *long story*. so… what’s there to talk about… ohhh… mai finger hurts because i was playing pool on sunday and i was made one retarded shot and hit mai finger against the side of the table… it sort of bruised… how stupid… imajin this:

“hey viv! how’d yoo get that fatty bruise on your finger?”

“uhhh… i… was playing pool.”

doesn’t that sound GREAT? oh well. mai frendz are obsessed with pool (jeanette and sherry). they go like nearly every day of the week. too much money and gas to waste, i’m tellin yah.

another thing. i want to go to china. before *like half a year ago* i would have never wanted to go but i actually want to now! i don’t know why. i think because i heard it was really cool and beijing is like taiwan, while shanghai is like hong kong. hey, that works for mee!! ^_^ i wanna go to hong kong, actually. the first tym i went was like 2 years ago… it was koo cept we didn’t know what to do around there so we ended up going shopping @ similar stores for the whole week we were there, so i’m hoping that it will be better nex tym. the only tym we actually did something other than shopping was one day when we went karaokeing and to the arcade with winnie, her brother, and her kyooooot cuzin ^_^

oh! somewhere else i wanna go… hopefully i can go to korea next summer with dahye… she’s goin for like 2 months or something… maybe i’ll be able to too. that would be awesome! =P i love vacations! ^_^ i’m also going to japan this winter… japan and taiwan *only like three daze in taiwan though… =(* i’m kinda peeved because i’d rather go to korea than japan *since japan is soooo expensive* but it is okie because then i can use the korea thing as an excuse for next summer! =)

wellz… thas all of mai journal for today. see yoo tomorrow for another installment of vivian’s bored-at-work show!

similar words across languages :D

Tuesday, July 25th, 2000

*SONG OF THE MOMENT* - “crushed” bai limp bizkit. cool beat to this song man!! ^_^ i like them, even though i haven’t heard all that much of their music. oh well.

i’m bitter. i just wrote this fatty journal entry, but i pressed back bai accident and it all got erased. damm computers…

i was talking about languages. how the heck did people make up languages?? could yoo make up a letter of the alphabet if yoo tried now? i tried… i can’t… =P

and then onto chinese characters. they developed from documenting pictures, right? then the pictures gradually turned into words… but how the heck did they make up the words for verbs??

and lastly… how are the words for “mom” and “dad” similar in every language? mama, madre, momma, umma… papa, padre, appa… O_o

weird, isn’t it?

oh well. oh yeah! a lotta korean and chinese nouns are sooooo alike *well obviously cuz koreans came from chinese but i still find it interesting*… it seems like for a lot of them, they just took the pinyin (the way they spell chinese in english… cept it dun really look like it sounds) for the words in chinese and convert them to korean. kinda interesting. ^^;

i probably lost a lot of yoo. oh well. i would give yoo examples, but it looks funny unless yoo know pinyin.

overkill!

Monday, July 24th, 2000

Okie… maybe I am just complaining about this because I DON’T KNOW, since I’ve never been in a relationship, but I don’t think so.

It drives mee nuts how, when some guys and girls are in relationships, they:

1) Ditch their friends or don’t make enough time for their friends because they’re hanging out with their boifrends and girlfrends 24/7. Or, in other cases, blow off premade plans with friends to go kick it with his or her “significant other” which probably wouldn’t even be the significant other in a month or so.
2) Call their boifriend five tymz a day to talk about nothing. This one I actually know a lot about because mai brother used to call his old girlfriend once a day, and he drove MEE nuts because I had to listen to him talking to her about nothing every waking minute of the day. He’d call and be like “Hey… what’s up? Oh… I’m playing video games. silence Aww… this sucks! I’m dying… I’m playing Resident Evil. No… it’s fun! Isn’t it fun Viv?” And I’m just like… eh? How’d I get into this? Do the words “waste of phone bill” ring a bell? -_-

Wellz thas about it. I think. I think the thing that drives mee insane is the over-annoying thing. Of course, I haven’t had a boifrend, but I HAVE had mai share of over-annoyance with guys, and if someone does that to mee, I can start from liking them to not ever wanting to talk to them! >_<

sigh! asian music galores.

Friday, July 21st, 2000

Oh first of all… the reason I am writing so much lately is because I am bored to death @ work… I gotta… whole lotta… tym here (every tym I say “a whole lotta” now, I feel like saying… “What yoo want? A whole lotta…” Yanno? The Da Brat and Tyrese song? Is it even Tyrese? -_-)

Anyways. What can I rant about music artists? Well first of all let mee say I got respect for a… whole lotta… *shiet, stop meeee!* music artists… but then again being someone who loves music, I can also NOT respect them very easily. So… I shall be ranting now. ^_^ Gotta divide them up bai the different countries though, because they all have different things for mee to gripe about =P

-= Taiwan =-
Ugh. Makes mee mad because Mandarin is the only language other than English and Spanish I can really understand, but the music I personally think is the worst. Iss tru… most of the only GOOD music has been jacked from Japanese and Korean people! Thas all I can really say about Taiwan artists… I’m sure there’s more, buuuut… =P Oh yeah. In Taiwan, the girls cannot sing worth beans… minus Coco, A-Mei, Shunza… hrm… thas about all I can currently think of! But the girls that CAN’T sing? Man… Tarcy Su, Yuki Hsu, VIVIAN HSU *she is the worst, although she has a tyte name… juss kidding =P*, and the list goes on… and on… however, most Taiwanese GUYS can sing, though. ^_^ Considering there’s not really that many famous ones and all too…

-= Hong Kong =-
Okie, actually Cantonese music is a lot better than Mandarin music. BUT here, most of the girls can sing *minus Wong Faye… dayam I DISLIKE HER GREATLY *i dun like using HATE* her… she’s mai least favorite celebrity EVER!!*, but the GUYS… man! Hong Kong guys cannot sing worth beans *minus Andy Lau, Jacky Cheung, Edmond Leung, Alex To, and some more dOods*! Ekin… as much as I love him, he should stick to acting. Nic Tse, Jimmy Lin, Wallace Chung *even though he is SO kyoot!!!* Ohhh and here is the whopper… AARON KWOK… dayam… he’s hella fine but… yeuk! His singing… O_o But still… Cantonese music iss pretty good… I just wish I could understand it! -_- I mean… not that iss really a PROBLEM for mee… since I listen to everything else I can’t understand anyways!

-= Korea =-
Ohhh… where do the gripes start for Korean music? I love it, as yoo can ALL tell, but there are SO many things about it that bug mee. First. Okie… they lip-sync because they dance. But for the groups that SUCK @ dancing, I think they should be forced to sing live instead of making us watch their horrific out-of-sync dancing sequences!! -_- Second… okie… how come after a group gets really popular they have to start lookin all freeky… I mean, after H.O.T.’s second album… then after ShinHwa’s second album *awwww mai poor boiz =(* But anyway. Do they really have to look like that to stay popular? Ugh… actually it is probably just SM that has sOopah problems. Third… okie… half of the people in the Korean music industry have zero talent… to make up a group of six, there’s probably like two talented people out of the whole group *cept ShinHwa, they’re an exception because MOST of them are good =P* I’m not gonna bother pointing out people, but I’m sure yoo all know. Oh! And the GIRLS! They probably have talent one out of ten or something?! Take Fin’KL for example. Man, they CANNOT sing. Park JiYoon yeuk!!! S.E.S., although I DO like them, I don’t think sings all that great. As long as yur good-looking in the Kimchi music industry, and can maybe hold a tune, yur in. I guess that is every music industry, but it seems the most obvious in Kimchi music? Iono. Well, I’ll stop now. -_- I can write a book griping about the Kimchi music industry.

-= Japan =-
Being that I don’t listen to much Japanese music, I can’t say. All I am going to say is that I don’t like Ayumi Hamasaki because she did a whole video without wearing a bra *the guys are probably like… so… what’s the problem? =P*. But anyhOo. Can’t really rant about something yoo dunno about. Oh, but I noticed Japanese girls are kOo but Japanese guys… -_- Maybe I just haven’t listened to enough, though.

-= America =-
Of course everyone knows already? So many unskilled people. Britney, Puffy, MANDY!!! I’m not gonna rant because American music speaks for itself, right? Oh another thing. These girls who should be role models are hella skandalous… piss mee off… like Jennifer Lopez and her sheet for a dress?! What the hell are yoo teaching kids? American society is f’d up -_-

-= Everything together! =-
Of course, this is due to shallowness in fans, not the celebrities, but I HATE how all the untalented people get famous and all the talented people don’t get famous. I can give an example for most…

* Someone who should have been famous in… *
TAIWAN - Well, David Tao is popular now, but when his first album came out, he wasn’t famous… in fact, a lot of people didn’t even know who he was.
HONG KONG ~ Coco Lee. Yes, thas right, she’s not famous there.
KOREA ~ S.A.V.E. *their lead singer is SO good* and Solid *old skool*
JAPAN ~ I don’t know.
AMERICA ~ KAI!

* Someone who IS famous but shouldn’t be… *
TAIWAN ~ There’s too many, but I’ll just say Yuki Hsu. She bites like no other.
HONG KONG ~ Who else? Wong Faye.
KOREA ~ Hong Kong. Definitely.
JAPAN ~ I don’t know.
AMERICA ~ Puff Daddy and Mandy Moore *YEUK!*.

AnyhOo. I think thas long enough for today. This is long enough to be the equivalent of three rants *I actually COULD have done that*

I meant “Fin’KL. Definitely.”

Not “Hong Kong. Definitely.”

Hong Kong isn’t a group =P

Oh yeah something else funnie about the Kimchi music industry… the funky abbreviations!

R.EF = Ruff Eazy Flava
H.O.T. = High-Five Of Teenager
Fin’K.L. = Fine Killing Liberty
T.TMA = No idea, but I bet yoo it is stupid
Baby V.O.X. = Baby Voices Of Xpression *would be cool if it weren’t for the Baby*
N.R.G. = New Radiancy Group

… and of COURSE, mai future group…

T.L.G. = Three Letter Group! ^_^
